About your photographer

Preserving genuine moments in every portrait! From individual expressions to spirited kindergarten classes – it's my joy to keep it real. No forced smiles, just authentic snapshots that truly tell a story.

My name is Beatrice Svensson, originally from the beautiful Småland. I spent the first 19 years of my life in a moderately sized coastal town. This is where my interest in photography started, sparked by a small, pink digital camera. This was the beginning of what I do today. I like to think that I understood the significance photography would have in my life even back then, but I doubt that young Beatrice could have fully grasped it.

In any case, that's where my journey started. Over time, my elder sister's DSLR became more appealing, and I would borrow it now and then. Later in life, when it was time for high school, the only option that made sense to me was to study photography. Hence, I chose to study aesthetics and media with a focus on photography. Over these three years, my interest in graphic design also grew, steering me onto the path that I'm on today, but I'll come back to that.

In high school, I had the opportunity to explore entrepreneurship and began to take on my first photography clients! Couple photos, driver's license pictures, and family portraits were the subjects of my photography back then. After closing my junior achievement company, I instead focused on freelance assignments. Two days after graduation, I moved to Norrköping, which became my new home. The day after moving in, I started working at a photo company in town. My feelings about this period are mixed as I loved photography and meeting clients but also had to work under poor conditions. This led to burnout, and I feared that my creative drive was gone for good. Regardless of the circumstances, I still learned a lot from that experience, and slowly but steadily, I regained my creativity. In 2019, I started studying graphic design and communication at Linköping University. I felt that what I learned in high school was not enough, and I was eager to learn more. My time at university was everything I could have dreamed of, even though a portion of it was spent at home due to distance learning during the pandemic. My chosen focus was on design and production. I was particularly interested in typography, which later became the subject of my thesis. During my studies, I was also part of several associations where I, among other things, was in charge of organizing events for new students and sat on the board for my program as a safety representative. Naturally, I've also been a photographer for other associations such as the Campus Skramlar charity organization and the editorial team for the LiTHanian newspaper. So there you have it, a brief summary of me. Well, maybe a rather lengthy text, but now you, dear reader, know a lot more about me.
